Winter times means warm sweaters and blankets, space heaters, plastic on the windows, and lots of soup. We have re-instated the “Soup Clock” and are taking turns making big pots of soup to share. We’ve had a few exciting adventures in the kitchen lately, including making meals by combining a little of every item in the house, or cooking with the most unusual vegtables possible. Believe it or not, all of these experiments have turned out fabulously!
Alex has moved back into the farmhouse, and Sara is taking a four month trip over the winter, and we are happy to have Mapris in her bedroom for the next several months.
The garden is partly covered for the winter with a heavy multch, but part of it is still growing kale and winter greens. We also harvested tons of jerusleum artichoke and potatoes about a month ago, and are still eating some of the garlic we grew over the summer.
